The betoShell®-rectangular element
With a thickness of 20 mm, the betoShell® rectangular element is a lightweight among concrete facades. As well as from reinforced concrete walls, its low weight enables it to be hung from surfaces such as plastered limestone surfaces or existing tiles without special preparatory work.

The betoShell® rectangular elements are particularly suited for public passenger transport facilities such as railway stations, subways etc.

Project: Pedestrian subway Krefeld-Linn
The elements are manufactured as concrete blocks according to DIN 18500. The concrete is produced as low compacted concrete according to DIN 1045. The strength class corresponds at least to a type B45. The water absorption of the concrete is significantly below the permissible value of 15 %.
The supporting structure consists of vertical aluminium stringers fastening to individual brackets. The elements are then hung in place individually. This allows for easy dismantling or individual panel replacement.
A modified supporting structure without thermal insulation and with minimised structural strength is used for applications in railway stations, subways etc.
