Following our construction site White City in the west of London we are now also operating in the east of the capital city. Numerous high-rise buildings, hotels, terraced house complexes and all associated facilities are emerging here in the docklands from the former port facilities. Sports venues with corresponding infrastructure are also envisaged for the Olympics in 2012 which are approaching quickly.
The DLR, the Docklands Light Rail, is seen as the most important means of transport in this area of London. This (driverless) railway, which mainly runs overground, serves the south eastern part of the town as well as the cityairport and the Excel trade fair center.

In order to satisfy the growth in the docklands, the DLR is extending its route and stop network among others with the Langdon Park stop. Two external platforms with 86 m useful length each, 100 cm entry height and respectively two 9 m ramps are being constructed here. The construction site was installed and the first elements delivered on 19/20 May already. The assembly is planned for the middle of June and will be carried out in a weekend blocked break.
