Energy-efficient façade renovation

Renovation with betoShell®

Hering commissioned the development of a 2 cm thick, textile-reinforced, precast concrete element façade - betoShell® (type approval number Z-33.1-577) to cater for the huge building renovation demand.

This has made it possible for us to give buildings a higher level of protection with regard to insulation, as well as an increased level of noise protection. However, our prime concern is redesigning façades. The diverse range of surface design possibilities, with regard to colours, processing techniques (washing, blasting, acidifying, grinding etc.) matrixes, relief and photo concrete, leaves practically no wish to be desired when it comes to giving a building a new and appropriate outfit. Large-scale, textile reinforced concrete façades with dimensions of 5.00 x 2.50 m and 3 – 4 cm thickness are also possible. They were developed in collaboration with RWTH Aachen and mounted on the new research building of RWTH in Aachen.

Renovation by cleaning façades

Although the thermal insulation may be in order, the concrete facade usually becomes a little unsightly over the years, due to exposure to weather and environmental influences. We can resolve this problem with a cosmetic façade renovation. Depending on the degree of dirt and wear, the surface is either washed or blasted. Small chips and flakes etc. are cosmetically repaired with concrete and then hydrophobised. Parts of the façade or the entire façade can also receives a graffiti-resistant coating.
