Hering gets the railways moving

For Hering, in addition to the reconstruction and new construction of track and points and the construction of platforms, railway construction includes the complete reconstruction or new construction of transport facilities for all railborne public transport systems.

Track construction

In the maintenance and in the case of immediate measures, the customers of Hering value the effectiveness and quality of urgent measures in track laying to maintain the normal operation. The construction of fly-overs with all necessary auxiliary constructions for “Building under rolling wheels” is one of the core responsibilities of Hering .

The reconstruction and the renovation of level crossings, culverts and tunnels, and civil engineering and cable construction complete the range of services of railway construction. With the installation of 2400 m² of continuous temporary bridge construction over the Hafenstraße underpass passing under the main station in Frankfurt, Hering can look back on the largest temporary construction to maintain railborne transport operation during bridge renewal work.

At the track laying sites, Hering primarily uses company-owned heavy machines and possesses one of the world’s largest track-bound cranes with a maximum lifting capacity of 150 tons.

For tamping work on tracks and points, Hering deploys the rail-bound large-scale machines from „Deutsche Gleisbau Union“.  Jointly with 4 other companies, Hering is a shareholder of DGU, one of the largest medium-sized rail and points tamper machine enterprises in Germany.
