System platform modula®light
modula®light is a free-standing, side-boarding platform, which, in comparison with the conventional modula® system platform, is lighter in weight due to the application of “lighter” aggregates and can, thus, be moved and assembled in an easier and more time-efficient manner. modula®light is – as are all station platform systems from the Hering company – prefabricated in the company’s own factory. modula®light is comprised of prefabricated flat slabs and shaft frames with the following standard dimensions:
Element length: 4.00 m to approx. 4.50 m / Element width: 2.50 m to approx. 3.00 m

Foundation:
The foundation of the station platform system modula®light is made with the aid of shaft frames (subsequently grouted with site-mixed concrete). Thus, constructors are provided with the following advantages:
- Flagmen cost savings due to foundation outside of the pressure range of railway loads.
- No shoring work necessary in the foundation area of the platform.
- No subsequent filling work necessary on the station track
- Supply lines can be laid in the platform area, because the foundation of the platform lies outside of the range of railway traffic loads.
- Ballast cleaning work can be performed in the track area with the aid of heavy-duty machines
Construction:
The construction of the platform system modula®light can be easily and quickly performed. The advantages that this platform provides constructors with are quite obvious:
- Practically no dependency on weather conditions due to large proportion of prefabricated parts.
- Mounting, adjusting and fixing of the platform slabs is possible during natural breaks between trains
- One-piece system, few fixing elements: allowing faster construction (Mounting of up to 100 running metres FT platform foundations / 8 h shift possible, Mounting of up to 100 running metres of platform elements / 8 h shift possible)
- Weight reduction due to “lighter” aggregates and selected system dimensions, so that the prefabricated parts can be moved and mounted with the aid of a road rail excavator.
- Lower construction monitoring times
- Lower costs for flagmen
- Raising to a new boarding level can also be subsequently performed
- Excellent, weather-independent surface quality due to factory, homogenous prefabrication in one cast; no trip hazard caused by outstanding edges, as is often the case in conventional production
- Reduction of renovation costs
- Optional: Noise protection for platforms (installation of sound-absorbing slabs possible)
- Practically all kinds of superstructures (railings, cabins etc.) an be directly erected upon the platform without the need of their own foundations
- Resource-friendly: The platform slabs are, to a large extent, reusable
Performance summary:
