A Hering crane was put into operation in Sweden for the very first time.

On behalf of BANVERKET, the subsidiary company of the Swedish railway company, the 150 tonne crane set out upon its own train journey, via Nuremberg, to the seaport of Rostock, from where it travelled on the railway ferry to the port of Trelleborg, the southernmost town of Sweden. The first operations were planned for the 25th and 26th of September in the town of Bro (near Stockholm). Here, as in the following operations, point reconstruction work was performed. On the 3rd and 4th of October, the Hering crane was then put into a township in the Swedish province of Örebro län. Laxå is an old railroad and industrial town, and also the main town within the local district. This is where the Hering crane operators installed major turnout components (54 sleepers, 40 tonnes, 32.40 m length).

First of all they removed the old points, unloaded the new ones from the point transport vehicle, and transported these over 1 km to the site, where they were installed with the aid of the Hering crane. From the 15th till the 17th of October the crane operators were busy again at the site where it all began.: in Bro, near Stockholm. The reconstruction performance was a great success – and the Hering staff were impressed with their very first operation in the beautiful country of Sweden.
