The Hering Architectural Concrete team is currently working on one of its largest construction projects: the extension of company’s headquarters for Sartorius AG in Göttingen. As part of the 2020 master plan, the so-called "Sartorius Campus" is developed at the Grone factory where the two main places of operation of the international leading pharmaceutical and laboratory suppliers will come together.
There will be, among others things, four new buildings with a new main entrance and offices for the administrative departments. According to the master plan by the Bünemann & Collegen architectural firm, a uniform architectural concept is developed to include a precast concrete façade. Hering Architectural Concrete provides a complete package with planning, manufacturing, delivery and assembly of the architectural concrete façade. This concerns overall about 5,400 m² of white precast concrete with subsequently acid-washed and hydrophobic surfaces. The special feature: there are offsets in the building where false ceilings should be designed to match. This is where the thin-walled façade system, betoShell®CLASSIC, can be used since it is also approved as a suspended ceiling. That way the buildings shall retain a monolithic character.
On the "Sartorius Campus" construction site, new buildings for production, logistics and administration, a cafeteria and a car park will be built between 2012 and 2020. At this moment in time, the architectural concrete façade is being fitted, and the offices are expected to be ready for occupancy by fall 2017.
