A Place for Young Explorers: Forest Kindergarten Officially Opened

A place that lasts – for children, for the region, and for the future.

In June, the “Waldwichtel” forest kindergarten run by the German Red Cross (DRK) in Holzhausen was officially opened – a truly special place in the heart of nature, made possible through strong cooperation.

The HERING Foundation had long been looking for a meaningful, long-term project with regional impact. The idea of supporting a forest kindergarten had been close to the hearts of our management for years – and by chance, a conversation with the DRK revealed that they were looking for exactly such a location. Two ideas came together and developed into one shared vision.

A safe and natural space for up to 20 children was created on the HERING Foundation's property. The old log cabin was fully renovated, equipped with modern sanitary facilities, and transformed into the centerpiece of the new daycare.

We are proud to have supported this valuable project from the first idea to the opening day. And who knows – maybe this is where a love of nature, technology, and working together starts to grow.
