Belval: A WC facility with no corners or edges

Individual WC facilities like this one are the product of the combination of creativity with intelligent modular design: the round WC facility in Luxembourg.

What once used to be an industrial site has been completely transformed into an urban neighbourhood – the Belval, a district of Esch-sur-Alzette in Luxembourg. That’s also how Belval Park, which offers numerous recreational opportunities over a total area of 19 hectares, came into being. The special WC facility by HERING Sanikonzept GmbH has also been installed at the Quelle Bel-Val pavilion, which was designed to serve as a place of rest and refreshment and, among other things, to offer visitors a range of culinary delights.

Such special projects with modern WC facilities, of course, demand thinking that occurs outside the box: That’s how the idea of a circular structure, which adapts in the best possible way to the modern location and its surroundings, came into being. It offers space for one barrier-free women’s cubicle (with nappy-changing table) and one barrier-free men’s cubicle with urinal.
