A total of around 325 façade elements were produced – including approximately 300 sandwich elements and about 20 curtain wall elements. The façade is characterized by a washed surface in grey-white tones, giving the building a high-quality, timeless appearance that integrates seamlessly into the architectural surroundings.
Production of the elements took place over the course of eight months. Installation began in September 2023 and was completed in February 2024. The façade elements were mounted in a four-week rhythm, coordinated with in-situ concrete works on columns and floors, which were carried out by BAUWENS during the installation breaks.
Today, the building stands as an architectural highlight in Cologne-Marienburg. The concrete façade combines aesthetic quality with functional excellence – a successful example of modern office architecture using precast exposed concrete elements.
HERING Architectural Concrete | HAC thanks BAUWENS, Fischer Architekten, and all project partners for the successful and trusting collaboration on this exceptional façade project in Cologne.
