The HERING Group has again been able to demonstrate its effectiveness in the handling of construction projects through close internal cooperation: HERING Bahnbau GmbH and HERING GmbH & Co. KG Systeme were able to effectively and professionally carry out the construction work at Hanau’s main station for Deutsche Bahn AG.

Centre Platform 104/106 (320 metres) and Platform 102/103 (405 metres) were dismantled and rebuilt, furnished and provided with new signage. What was special about this construction site: It was an island construction site, which meant that it was only possible to supply materials by way of track logistics using a locomotive and rail carriage.

The work included the staircase and elevator among other things. The newly built glass elements above the staircase now let in even more light to increase safety in this area.

HERING Systeme installed the Evolution 2020 roof over Platform 104/106 at Hanau’s main station while working hand in hand with HERING Bahnbau, which had been tasked with the work on the platforms. The canopy for this project measures 130 metres. A second roof, also from the Evolution 2020 series, with a length of 160 metres was built over the Platform 102/103 in summer 2022.

HERING developed Evolution 2020 in close cooperation with Deutsche Bahn AG. The roof system has been standardised and optimised to allow it to be flexibly adapted to different local and structural conditions.
