It allowed the apprentices at the track-construction department to demonstrate their skills in the dismantling and extension of tracks as well as the rehabilitation of switches. The construction-equipment operators helped with the excavation of waste materials, which was loaded on to trucks, and with the installation of piles from the railway carriage using a slewing crane from our fleet of heavy-duty machinery.
