The first five orders from the AWB Cologne framework agreement have been called. The new contract was concluded at the end of 2023 and covers various locations in Cologne at which new public conveniences are to be installed.
The framework agreement, which was concluded without a fixed number of units, provides for the construction of city WCs (CWC) and, for the first time, so-called social-flashpoint WCs (SWC). These special toilet cubicles are made of stainless steel and are equipped with universal fixtures and a ‘saloon doors’ to realise a certain level of social monitoring and prevent damage from vandalism.
The conveniences are to be installed at the following locations within the scope of the first orders called:
- Kostgasse: SWC double
- Richartzstraße: SWC single
- Auf dem Brand: SWC single
- Bahnhofsvorplatz: SWC single
- Bahnhofsplatz: CWC
These measures will significantly improve the availability of conveniences in Cologne and provide the city’s residents and visitors with comfortable and hygienic toilet facilities. We’re looking forward to more orders being called!
