Frankfurt Airport Long-Distance Station: Switch Modernization Complete!

From July 16 to 25, 2024, switches 15 and 16 at the Frankfurt Airport long-distance station were fully replaced as part of the complete closure of the Frankfurt–Cologne high-speed line. Initially, two 3000-type switches were removed and replaced with new, precisely installed 1200-type switches.

The project demanded meticulous planning and logistics: as all material supply had to be managed through our construction site, the switch replacements were carried out sequentially—one switch was fully completed before work on the next began. Thanks to the excellent collaboration of all parties involved and the effective coordination by our logistics team, the work was completed smoothly.

Our KRC 810-2 crane once again proved its value, ensuring the precise placement of the new switches. The unique setting added to the experience: located directly at the airport, the site provided a spectacular view of airplanes taking off and landing above us—an inspiring backdrop that made this project truly memorable.

With this modernization, we have not only enhanced the infrastructure but also successfully completed a challenging project with outstanding results!
