Frankfurt Long-Distance Station: Track Construction with a Touch of Wanderlust

From July 16 to 25, 2024, switches 15 and 16 at the Frankfurt long-distance station were renewed. Two 3000-series switches were removed and replaced with two 1200-series switches. Our dedicated logistics team, along with locomotive “Hartmut,” and colleagues from the large machinery division with their KRC 810-2, were all on site.

Switch Renewal at Frankfurt Airport Long-Distance Station

Due to the station’s unique location right at Frankfurt Airport, the team occasionally found themselves daydreaming about the planes taking off overhead – a little bit of wanderlust in the air!
