Between 4 October and 31 October, the HERING track construction team successfully completed an extensive renewal project at the Frankfurt am Main stabling yard. The core task involved dismantling the existing switch systems and installing ten new switches to sustainably enhance the yard’s performance and operational flexibility.
The new switches and connecting tracks were pre-assembled and then positioned with high precision using a railway slewing crane (EDK). Ballasting, tamping and lining works, followed by the welding operations, completed the track installation. All activities were executed smoothly and within the planned timeframe.
A particular highlight was the excellent interplay between the internal performance units: alongside the track construction team, the logistics teams of HERING Bahndienste and the heavy-machinery teams of HERING Bahnbau worked together with precision and seamless coordination. The harmonised workflows ensured a continuous material supply and efficient deployment of machinery, showcasing the strong competencies and synergies bundled within the HERING Group.
We would like to thank all colleagues involved for their dedicated commitment and the highly professional execution of the project!
