HERING Bahndienste GmbH: New company for railway operations within the HERING Group

Since July 1, 2025, HERING Bahndienste GmbH has been officially in operation, marking an important milestone towards greater independence in the Group’s railway operations.

Track-related logistics from a single source – structured, safe, independent

As an independent railway undertaking (RU), HERING Bahndienste GmbH is now responsible for the central coordination and operational execution of all railway services within the HERING Group. The company’s clear priority is compliance with legal requirements and the consistent application of all relevant safety standards.

A key addition to the service portfolio is the so-called “last mile” transport: this enables precise and flexible rail-based logistics right up to the construction site – especially where conventional transport solutions reach their limits. With this, the existing logistics offering is expanded by an important new service.

Legally certified: RU licence and safety certificate

To commence operations as a railway undertaking (RU), two key prerequisites are required: the company licence and the safety certificate issued by the Federal Railway Authority. HERING Bahndienste GmbH holds both certifications, providing the foundation to operate independently as an RU.

Restructuring within the HERING Group

As part of the reorganisation, the entire logistics division of HERING Bahnbau GmbH was integrated into the new company. Since July 1, 2025, the employees have joined HBD, contributing their many years of experience and expertise to the new organisation. This ensures a smooth transition as well as the high quality standards that HERING customers have come to expect.

The service offering of HERING Bahndienste also includes a control centre staffed around the clock. This enables flexible responses at any time and ensures reliable operations.
