HERING modernises railway station in Kirchhain

Hasselmann GmbH awarded our HERING Systeme team the contract to renew the platform roof at Kirchhain’s railway station. HERING planned and installed a modern platform roof and a staircase enclosure for the passenger underpass within the scope of this project.

The type of roof used was the Evolution 2020 model, which is characterised by its very high degree of prefabrication and time-saving assembly concept. A tapering and curved design was chosen for the roof as it’s located in a bend. The structure with its length of 58 metres and width of up to 9.26 metres is a genuine eye-catcher. It’s more than four metres high because an elevator shaft needed to be accommodated.

It was also necessary to ensure safety for workers needing to walk on the roof so a guardrail and a restraint system were installed on the roof’s access sides. These allow workers to walk right up to the roof’s edge to carry out cleaning and maintenance work.

The staircase enclosure is 10 metres long and has been clad with 16 panes of thick laminated safety glass.

A great reference project for our HERING Systeme team!
