Milestone at the large-scale ‘Munich 42’ project

Reopening of renovated WC facilities in Munich

Significant progress has been made as part of the major ‘Munich 42’ project: We took 42 toilet facilities into use, mainly in subway stations in Munich, at the beginning of 2017. The old WC facilities have been gradually renovated over time. And, although the distribution of approval procedures and construction work between the customer and contractor did lead to delays at some locations, we were able to complete the work successfully.

The modernised facilities at the Neuperlach Süd, Klinikum Großhadern, Messestadt Ost, Hasenbergl, Milbertshofen, Feldmoching and Westfriedhof stations were officially reopened at the end of June. At one small opening ceremony, Mr Weber, the responsible project manager at Stadtwerke München (SWM), the city’s utility company, introduced the renovated toilet facilities’ new technology and equipment.

Mr Weber praised colleagues at HERING Sanikonzept’s construction and service department for their outstanding work and tireless application. The newly opened facilities now offer passengers a modern and clean way of using the public conveniences. Congratulations on the achievement of this successful milestone!
