During the work, the PM 1000-URM removed 9,200 tons of excavated material, which was replaced with 4,500 tons of new subgrade protection layers and 6,500 tons of ballast. Following this, a conversion train operated by the company Leonhard Weiss renewed the tracks, replacing old sleepers and rails, supplementing ballast, and stabilizing the track bed. Simultaneously, switch renewal began in Wallmerod, where railway crossings were temporarily closed. Additionally, two switches in Moschheim were modernized during a 55-hour closure with the support of our heavy machinery and logistics division.
Further switch upgrades on the single-track line required precise planning, as removing individual switches rendered subsequent sections inaccessible to machinery. As a result, materials and equipment had to be transported via intermediate storage facilities and by truck.
After the completion of construction, the line was reopened. These measures contribute significantly to the long-term improvement of the railway line's infrastructure.
