On February 11, HERING Systeme, represented by Dr. Magdalena Kimm, participated as an industry partner in the Verbund.NRW research project at the Circular Economy Days in Münster. The central question: How can resource efficiency and circularity in concrete construction be significantly improved?
Together with scientists from RWTH Aachen, innovative approaches were presented and critically discussed. Key topics included:
• Textile and carbon concrete as a sustainable alternative to traditional building materials
• Use of recycled aggregates to reduce the consumption of primary raw materials
• CO₂-reduced cement to significantly improve environmental performance
Each strategy was analyzed for its impact on CO₂ reduction and material circularity. The discussion made one thing clear: Technological solutions already exist – but more industry pioneers are needed to scale them up.

Wir beantragen eine allgemeine bauaufsichtliche Zulassung für Recyclingbeton in frost- und tausalzbeanspruchten Bauteilen – z. B. für Bahnsteige. Damit erweitern wir die Anwendungsmöglichkeiten von Recyclingbeton über den bisherigen genormten Bereich hinaus!
