IHT Ingenieur-, Hoch- und Tiefbau awarded the contract for the ‘Leverkusen Mitte’ project to our team at HERING Systeme in 2021. The project is being realised within the framework of the conversion of the Leverkusen Mitte station, which also includes the construction of a total of three Zwiesel-type platform roofs along with three canopies for passenger underpasses. The planning phase already commenced in 2020 and extended over a longer period of time. A few remaining minor tasks are currently being carried out to complete the project.
The dimensions of the completed structures deserve particular mention: The highest roof, which covers Platforms 1 and 2, reaches a height of 7.59 metres. The longest roof, which covers Platforms 3 and 4, measures an impressive 112 metres. The areas covered total 292 metres in length.
It’s a great end result in spite of the long planning and construction phase!
