Combining Functionality, Design and Protection
A modern EV charging park has been built right next to the stadium of Borussia Mönchengladbach – and it delivers on every level: technically advanced, comfortably equipped, and well protected against vandalism. The project is a collaboration between bp and HERING Sanikonzept GmbH, in cooperation with the in-house brand protect & clean®.
HERING Sanikonzept was responsible for the construction and installation of the sanitary facilities, consisting of one unisex cabin and one accessible cabin. The barrier-free design ensures unrestricted use for all visitors. Visually, the facility is aligned with the adjacent REWE To-Go shop. Featuring a modern timber façade and green design elements, the building blends seamlessly into the overall design of the charging park and adds architectural highlights.
A particular focus was placed on durability and resistance to damage: In collaboration with protect & clean®, the entire sanitary unit and the adjacent transformer building were treated with anti-graffiti protection. The colour scheme of the WC facility was also slightly adapted to perfectly match the surroundings.
Another project highlight: For the first time, two EV charging stations themselves were fitted with special vandalism protection. BP provided two charging units for a pilot project in which a new spray-on anti-graffiti solution was tested. The sensitive technology was carefully masked beforehand to ensure precise application.
The result speaks for itself: a successful EV charging park that combines functionality, design and protection – delivering a modern, sustainable and welcoming infrastructure.
