Private House Zurich: Chipperfield planning with architectural concrete by HERING

An ensemble of three residential buildings has been created against the breathtaking backdrop of Lake Zurich; David Chipperfield, an architectural firm from the UK, executed the planning. A total of 982 reinforced-concrete elements – which together form the residential building with balconies – were manufactured at the HERING | HAC prefabrication plant in Burbach-Holzhausen for this extraordinary project.

Technical details:

Façade, balconies and ceilings were realised with beige-coloured prefabricated concrete elements using marble aggregates sourced from the Erzgebirge region. The concrete finish was sanded and acidified. Anthracite with a smooth finish was chosen as the colour for the roofing sections.

The prefabricated reinforced-concrete elements were already produced in 2019 – but the entire construction project was only completed this year. The result is something to see!
