Railway construction by HERING: Immediate work SOFO Niederlahnstein

In September, HERING Bahnbau had a real challenge to overcome. After a freight train derailed, a total of 4 switch points and connecting tracks had to be disassembled and disposed of and then had to be replaced.

When excavating the contaminated ground, approx. 20,000 tonnes of earth were excavated and loaded. To do this, 5 operational train locomotives were coordinated and deployed at times. Our MFS technology in the field of large machinery was used to fill in the “pit”. Afterwards, the pre-assembled switch points were laid using the HERING railway rotary crane.

After 4 weeks precisely, all switch points and tracks were reported to be operational again.
