Reeperbahn in Hamburg lights up

Who doesn't know the "Reeperbahn" in Hamburg? On one of Germany's most famous streets, you are now safe even in the dark, because seven S-Bahn (suburban railway) stairways are set to shine with a façade cladding made of betoShellSiut®, a thin concrete construction with integrated light fibres.

Three staircases are currently finished. A total of 213 panels were installed on an area of 165 m². The slabs are anthracite coloured and sanded, and were well received by our client at the initial acceptance test in May. The production of further slabs for two more stairways will start shortly at the HERING precast plant. The installation of further slabs is planned over the next few months.
