In Kreuztal, HERING Bahnbau GmbH successfully completed a comprehensive renewal project on behalf of KSW Kreisbahn Siegen-Wittgenstein.
Between 23 September and 24 October 2025, switches and track sections were renewed across multiple areas. The focus of the works was the replacement of two switches as well as several track segments. In total, around 670 metres of track were processed — including everything that goes with it: sleeper replacement, ballast cleaning, and the subsequent restoration of the track geometry, including machine tamping, profiling and shaping of the standard ballast cross-section.
With the successful completion of the works, an important contribution was made to the long-term performance and safety of the regional rail network — a project that demonstrates: we keep major projects moving – not only nationwide, but also right here in our own neighbourhood.
