At the end of November 2024, we successfully passed the EMAS audit – an important milestone achieved through the dedication and expertise of our new environmental team.
The numbers speak for themselves:
- In 2023, we recorded the lowest total energy consumption in recent years while achieving the highest share of renewable energy at our Burbach site.
- Although absolute emissions (vehicles, trains, flights) increased by 12.7% compared to 2022 – due to a 19.1% rise in vehicle mileage – we managed to reduce emissions per kilometer. Our goal is to further contribute to CO₂ reduction in the future by electrifying our fleet.
- Positive results were also achieved in waste reduction: the volumes of the three largest waste fractions – concrete slurry, construction and demolition waste, as well as residual concrete/rubble – were reduced compared to the previous year.
With the renewed EMAS certification, we emphasize our strong commitment to environmental protection and resource conservation – for a sustainable future and a responsible approach to working together.
