The Ulmer BetonTage, a congress about concrete, which takes place on three days in February every year, is a must-visit for many businesses in the concrete and precast products industry. This year, the meanwhile 61st edition took place from 14th to 16th February at the Edwin-Scharff-Haus in Neu-Ulm.
The employees of Hering Architectural Concrete also seized the opportunity to inform themselves about the latest relevant issues and to compare notes with the numerous international congress attendees. Each attendee could participate in various podium discussions and lectures of their interest every day. The diversified programme was rounded off by practical workshops and a trade exhibition.
It became obvious that concrete is undergoing a change in image: Away from being a construction material towards sustainable and long-lasting high performance concrete. This is how the technical contributions on wide-ranging research topics were characterized: By using project presentations, innovative technical solutions were presented demonstratively. Concrete is becoming increasingly popular among architects and constructors, a fact that the concrete and precast products industry is noticing: An ongoing positive trend is forecast for 2017.
