During the night of 13 to 14 October 2025, precision, teamwork and millimetre-accurate handling were essential in Essen. Two of our heavy track-bound machines – the KRC 810-3 and the KRC 1200-2 (“Idefix”) – were deployed in a tandem lift to raise a 44-metre-long, 44-tonne torsion beam for a noise barrier.
The beam was picked up laterally and moved beneath the overhead line before being positioned with millimetre precision. The interplay between both cranes, the coordination with the involved partners and the precise work of our team ran smoothly from start to finish – heavy-duty operations executed to perfection.
And then only one thing was still missing: the correct dimensions.
It turned out that the torsion beam’s measurements did not match the specifications, which meant that the installation had to be postponed. For us, this meant: mission accomplished — the beam was safely placed down — and yet another operation that demonstrates what our machines and our team are capable of. Even if the beam itself (for now) wasn’t allowed to stay.
