“The pandemic is forcing us towards a new greener model,” Basile van Havre

The link between the current pandemic and preservation of biodiversity constitutes further cause for us to vehemently pursue our sustainability targets and to keep them under continuous review.

All of us, each and every one of us, possesses the capacity to contribute to the reduction of the number of pandemics in the future. The risk of future pandemics grows by the minute with the destruction of natural habitats and their ‘occupation’ by us humans. The fact that it’s possible to fly to any corner of the world also makes it easier to spread disease across the globe. That’s why it is, in our opinion, dangerous to relax environmental standards in any attempt to stimulate economies. We have known for a long time now that complex links exist between people’s health and that of animals, plants and the environment that we inhabit together.
