As part of this initiative, we provided six kindergartens in the region with a "Railway Play Box". These boxes contain valuable educational play materials designed to introduce children aged 3 to 6 to the railway in a fun and engaging way. During our visits, we had the pleasure of witnessing the children's excitement for the railway firsthand. One particularly memorable moment was seeing how they incorporated the railway theme into their play. The highlight was a small demonstration of movement as a group: the children held hands to form a "train" and moved together across the room. One child was appointed as the locomotive driver, leading the group—a creative and playful way to illustrate how the railway operates. Their joy over the Railway Play Boxes was immense, and it was wonderful to see their curiosity and enthusiasm as they explored the new games and books.
The following kindergartens received a visit and a gift:
- DRK Family Center “Sonnenschein” Niederdresselndorf
- DRK Kindergarten Holzhausen “Unterm Sternenhimmel”
- DRK Kindergarten Burbach “Mozartstraße”
- DRK Kindergarten Lützeln “Zwergenhöhle”
- DRK Kindergarten Oberdresselndorf “Zwergenland”
- Evangelical Kindergarten Am Kastanienplatz – Ev.-Ref. Church Congregation Burbach
The first deliveries took place on September 9, 2024, together with VDEI, followed by the remaining ones on November 25, 2024. We were especially delighted to actively involve kindergartens from our region and to spark an early enthusiasm for the railway among young children.
