The latest innovation in the betoShell® product family is a sandwich panel with a 30mm-thick carbon concrete facing shell. The carbon reinforcement creates a floor space gain within the building of at least 5 cm in comparison with a classic sandwich construction. Floor height components with dimensions up to 6.00 x 3.60 m can however be used as non-load-bearing outer shells.

Textile trust grids are used to combine load bearing layers and facing shells, and enable the use of regular insulation materials with thicknesses ranging from 12 to 25 cm. an enormous advantage over a simple steel-reinforced sandwich panel is that a betoShell®SANDWICH is free of thermal bridging and as such achieves excellent values in the environmental performance evaluation.

The implementation of a betoShell®SANDWICH requires approval on a case-by-case basis.
