The installation of the betoShell®FLEX30 façade on the Grosse Bleichen 3 building that is situated in the immediate vicinity of the Binnenalster (Inner Alster Lake) and Jungfernstieg promenade in Hamburg commenced in summer 2018. The special geometry of the existing building required many sloping sections and shaped soffits for the façade, which blends harmoniously into the exclusive surroundings. The façade covers a total area of 330 square metres and was realised with 98 precast concrete elements that were given a blasted Nordic White finish. The recesses in the prefabricated parts were washed to make them stand out even more from the rest of the surface.
The conditions at the construction site meant that it was necessary to install the betoShell® elements at night. Another special aspect of this project was that the HALFEN SL30 system was employed for the first time.
