‘Innovation in Albstadt and worldwide – Groz-Beckert on the way to becoming a comprehensive system provider’ – that’s the headline in the brochure published by the TUDALIT association, which also counts HERING as a member. Groz-Beckert offers a comprehensive range of products for the manufacture of textiles using a wide variety of production processes in more than 150 markets. It includes more than 70,000 different products – whether for knitting, warp knitting, weaving, felting, tufting or sewing.
Groz-Beckert is headquartered in Albstadt in Baden-Württemberg in Germany, which is also where it opened the world’s longest bridge using textile-reinforced concrete for public use on 5 November 2010. HERING was also involved in this project.
The new Technologie- und Entwicklungszentrum (TEZ – Technology and Development Centre) that opened in 2010 is the place where Groz-Beckert demonstrates how it’s possible to use textiles in a variety of applications that extend beyond fashion and sports. The TEZ focuses on research, development, innovation and textile synergies as well as education and further training.
For this new building, HAC produced, delivered and installed 380 square metres of façade panels with a blasted finish in anthracite – naturally with our betoShell®, reinforced with textile fibres manufactured by Groz-Beckert.
