The moving of rails is an essential part of any railway construction site. Hering has developed a system for doing this where the rails are moved on the ballast without any damage being caused. This method is used where there is just a single track or there is no shutdown of operations on the adjacent railway track. Sections which are roughly 1,000 m long are formed and they can be moved past obstacles such as a track renewal train without any wear at all.
The rail joints are established with rail connectors and equipped with an accessory that has been specially developed by Hering and makes it possible to ensure that the continuous lines slide over the rollers without being impeded.
In a shift lasting 12 hours, this method allows 2.5 km of track to be moved!
