Over the past four years, HERING, with its total of four work locomotives, has developed into a competent provider of rail transportation services. We make the same high demands on both quality and punctuality when transporting our customers’ machines and freight. Our locomotives possess the power, speed and flexibility that’s necessary to effect relocations even at short notice, e.g. of damaged wagons, across Germany. Focus on sustainability
The ongoing optimisation of our fleet and machine equipment also included the installation of soot particulate filters in our locomotives, which has allowed us to reduce the emissions from transport trips. These particulate filters are part of the exhaust after-treatment systems that help improve air quality and reduce the impact that diesel combustion engines have on the environment. We also always aim to use the smallest and most economical machines possible in order to keep emissions and consumption low while minimising any harm to the environment.
HERING sustainability
At HERING, we see ourselves as pioneers in the field of sustainability. As early as 1996, we were the first construction company in Germany to obtain EMAS certification. Every three years, we publish an environmental statement documenting our goals and how we have achieved them. Actually, for the first time, we published a sustainability report with an integrated environmental statement in accordance with EMAS - a logical next step in view of our ecological and social responsibility. It documents how we deal internally and externally with the issues that are essential to our future viability.
