betoShell® façade for the FIZ block of flats in Berlin

In summer 2015, BASC.ET GmbH commissioned us - based on planning work by PPM GMBH – Planung + Projektmanagement - to design the façade of the FIZ block of flats in Berlin Tempelhof-Schöneberg using about 300 m² of betoShell®FLEX40. The soffits of the gazebos were presented in betoShell®CLASSIC 20mm.

The construction works that Hering began at the end of March were finished already by the end of April.

The object with its large window openings located in the city centre was a challenge in terms of logistics; deliveries could only be made just-in-time since the confined space conditions did not allow to set up a large construction site. With this project, Hering used three different substructures adapted to the given installation situations. Grout-in anchor, dowelled subconstruction as well as clasp construction.

Interestingly, the new construction was located within an empty site in close vicinity of the historic Tempelhof airport.
