With SOLAR.con, HERING presents a forward-looking solution in the field of Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV): an architecturally refined fair-faced concrete façade that seamlessly integrates small PV modules for sustainable energy generation.
The photovoltaic units are optimally aligned and embedded in precast concrete elements, preferably made from recycled concrete. The result is an innovative BIPV façade that combines visual appeal with functional performance.
Using algorithm-driven design tools, the orientation, shape, and positioning of the PV modules are precisely adapted to the building geometry, location, and solar path – ensuring maximum solar yield throughout the day.
Whether for new construction or renovation, SOLAR.con offers a carbon-reducing, energy-active building envelope that supports modern, sustainable architecture while contributing to on-site electricity generation.
The development of SOLAR.con is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and carried out in collaboration with leading research institutions such as HTWK Leipzig, Fraunhofer CSP, and TU Dresden.
