A special toilet pan separates faeces and urine and feeds them into separate collection tanks. Ventilation in the collection tanks creates a semi-vacuum to prevent strong smells. The collection tank is made of concrete or plastic, and the contents must be regularly pumped out by an extraction vehicle, depending on the frequency of use. Within the cubicle, toilet paper and a disinfectant dispenser are available to the user for hand hygiene.
Ideal for locations with very low footfall, such as cycle paths and hiking trails, where building regulations do not apply. A special toilet pan separates faeces and urine and leads them into a composting container. A self-powered fan evaporates the urine and dries the faeces. At the same time, this extracts odours from the cubicle. The compositing unit works at external temperatures of 1°C and above. The small amount of dried faeces needs to be regularly removed and disposed of. In order to achieve maximum effectiveness for the compositing unit, daily user frequency should not exceed 10 users.
From planning and construction through financing to maintenance, cleaning and repairs. HERING Sanikonzept has over 45 years of expertise and has already built more than 7000 toilet systems. We currently operate 1500 systems with a range of service modules. Our company employs more than 130 people, split between our head office in Burbach and service support points all over Germany.
Our WC facilities are characterised above all by the fact that they last up to 45 years. Such durability is achieved through the use of concrete for load-bearing structures; concrete allows service lives to be extended by up to three times over other building materials. We also score sustainability points when it comes to running the WC facilities: Detergents that are 100% biodegradable, the reduction of plastic waste by up to 70% thanks to the use of detergent concentrates as well as special coatings, such as our ‘easy-to-clean coating’, to name but a few of our innovations.
The HERING Group is an EMAS-certified company and attaches great importance to ecological construction methods and services as well as the appropriate use of materials. HERING Sanikonzept GmbH convinces with its concept for WC upcycling in the field of public conveniences: The company takes back and refurbishes old, outdated public WC facilities as prefabricated cells. Its self-sufficient toilets for low user frequencies also convince with their ecological features as they are operated without electricity, water and waste water connections.
