Düsseldorf 45 project – ‘Toilets for everyone’ opened

The first of two special facilities was opened on Moselstraße in November 2023 as part of a major order placed by the city of Düsseldorf within the scope of which a total of 43 single-room facilities and two ‘toilets for everyone’ are being built in the state capital.

The second facility at the Joseph-Beuys-Ufer location also went into operation as planned in December 2023.

But what distinguishes the ‘toilets for everyone’ from other accessible WC facilities?

They are special in how they’ve been equipped. The facilities meet all the requirements for barrier-free toilets as set out in DIN 18040 but also feature a height-adjustable change table for adults, an overhead hoist and an airtight bin for nappies. The facilities feature an emergency call system. And they can only be opened with a (CBF) Euro key.
