Hering’s installation teams were working as sub-contractors for THG Baugesellschaft mbH in Erftstadt in the Rhine-Erft District. Erftstadt train and bus stations were being completely modernised.
As part of this conversion Hering installed a 34 metre long Bodenheim light type roof in February 2016 for the platform alongside the station building. Two further roofs of the same type, each 17 metres long, were also erected for the central platform in June.
The work at the beginning of the year was carried out during the day but the roofs for the central platform were constructed during night shifts in June – and not made easier by the continuous rain which was typical of the 2016 summer up to that point in time. In spite of these circumstances the work was finished on schedule.
