New indoor swimming pool built in Wildeshausen with HAC façade

The "Krandelbad" in Wildeshausen was officially opened on 14 September 2014. Straight away it has turned into a popular place for visitors from the surrounding area who love to swim: by the end of the year the indoor swimming pool welcomed more than 32,000 visitors.

The building is striking due to its unusual appearance. betoShell® elements made by Hering Architectural Concrete (HAC) were used to disguise the wide front façade. The surface of anthracite textile-reinforced concrete was subsequently acidified and sparkles in the sunlight. In addition, by using rubber meshes a relief pattern was worked into the façade. Because of this, the entrance building contrasts with its bright green paint. Through a large window, the façade gives a view into the indoor swimming pool, at the same time providing privacy for visitors in the adjacent outdoor swimming pool.

The "Krandelbad" has become very popular and, with its high façade, has a positive effect on the cityscape of Wildeshausen.
