Our HERING Systeme team installed a Zwiesel platform roof at the Berlin Ostkreuz stop last summer. BUG Verkehrsbau SE commissioned us with this project. The platform roof, which meets all the Deutsche Bahn’s safety standards, extends over a length of 60 metres and rises to a height of five metres. Its conical (tapered) shape gives the roof a modern and appealing aesthetic.
Installation while rail services are still operating
Installation was carried out in summer temperatures from June to September 2023. One particularly challenging component was that rail services continued throughout the entire installation process.
