Hering Bahnbau has been doing reconstruction work of the tracks and switch points in Cologne Kalk Nord since the middle of September. At an order volume of 1,300,000 million euros, a total of 16 switch points and 1 track have been reconstructed here. The large equipment department has been a dynamic support with its numerous operations of the 125t railway rotary crane in inserting and removing the stitch points.
As has been the case with other construction projects, due to wildlife preservation, most materials have to be stored on timber beams. The ground must not be disturbed at all. Even driving across land is forbidden. These measures are for the protection of various types of lizards.
