Noise protection means protecting the environment: Ecological measures during the construction project at Bad Nauheim

As part of the Federal noise abatement programme, we received the order from DB Netz AG to create about 3km of noise barriers on the railway line between Butzbach and Friedberg.

For the implementation of the land conservation planning, various measures were taken to optimise the habitat structures of sand lizards and habitat for birds. For example, alternate habitats were created by way of frost-resistant wintering grounds, sunny spots, hunting grounds and loose stone areas for egg laying.

Furthermore, we have also installed numerous nesting boxes, dormice boxes and bat caves in order to compensate for the restriction in space resulting from the building of the noise barrier wall.
