In the spring of 2012, the new headquarters of RAG Montan Immobilien were inaugurated in the coking-coal area of the Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site in Essen, after a construction period of 15 months. The two-part building with a glazed crossover includes numerous offices and conference rooms and can house up to 250 employees. One particular design highlight is the non-bearing base cladding made of exposed concrete elements. Using so-called formliner technology, the names of all RAG Montan Immobilien projects have been artistically incorporated into the facade to commemorate them.
