As part of a tender by Deutsche Bahn and under the project name "Zukunft Bahn" - production of parapets made of translucent concrete, seven stairways at the S-Bahn stations to the Reeperbahn were to be modernised and redesigned.
This is where the start-up - Siut - with which HERING’s architectural concrete division has been cooperating for around two years - came into play. A total of 213 panels of betoShellSiut® – HERING’s translucent concrete with an elaborately polished surface - have currently been installed in ‘Charcoal’ on 165 square metres of the already completed stairways and have been accepted by the client.
The result is impressive and significantly enhances the area around the S-Bahn entrances along the Reeperbahn.
